Craft Pattern Book

The Geeky Stitching Co’s Little Book of Cross Stitch by Jess Payne

When I’m not reading, which is rare…you can find me doing some sort of crafty thing. I love to sew, to cross stitch, and to crochet. I also like to listen to audiobooks while doing those things, which is great multitasking for a book reviewer like myself! As far as cross stitch patterns go, I like small patterns that can be worked up quickly, such as Christmas ornaments and small framed projects.

The Geeky Stitching Co’s Little Book of Cross Stitch by Jess Payne is absolutely perfect for me, and I would highly recommend it for anyone who loves to try their hand at cross stitch. The patterns all include a full-color illustration of the completed project, as well as a full-color stitching chart, complete with a DMC thread guide for each. There is also a most helpful stitching guide at the beginning, which explains different types of stitches for the beginning stitcher. This book contains over 30 unique patterns which cover a range of seasons and themes cross stitchers are sure to love.

The patterns are grouped into the following sections:

Pretty Stuff and Florals (My favorite from this section is “Hang On, Let Me Overthink This”)

Be a Rainbow (My favorite from this section is “Be a Rainbow in Someone Else’s Cloud”)

Tis’ the Season (I love all of these holiday patterns! Especially the “Oh Deer, Christmas is Here”)

Furry Friends (Bees, Sloth, Shark, Fox, how do I choose a favorite!?)

Food, Fun, & Puns (My favorite in this section is “The Original Breakfast Club”)

Love the Earth (adorable!)

Pumpkin Spice Season (I love the “Autumn Leaves” pattern best in this section!)

Brand New Patterns (So many amazing ones here! My favorite is “First I Drink the Coffee and Then I Do the Things”)

Thank you to Authoright for the review copy of this book and for allowing me to be on their blog tour. This book publishes on November 26th. Just in time to purchase it for a holiday gift for your favorite stitcher!
