Roxanne “Roxy” Kincaid is in Denver for a hospitality conference, hoping to gain skills and contacts to help work her way up the ladder a little bit at the Donner Lodge. It’s refreshing to be in a place where no one knows about her past as a biker chick and as one of Jethro Winston’s infamous scorned exes. Here in Denver, she is a professional with a career goal in mind, and she’s determined to change the course of her future so it looks nothing like her past. While dancing with abandon in a bar, Roxy can sense that she’s being watched. When her gaze locks with the man watching her, however, she is wholly unprepared for what happens next. The attraction to this man, a brutally handsome stranger with a hot Australian accent, is intense and thrilling. Though he asks for her name and a way to contact her, she knows it’s best to just go home to Green Valley and focus on her career. She’s doing just fine without a man, even if seeing most of the other ladies in the Scored Women Society paired up with their beaus makes her a little wistful at times.

Sanders Olsson is a man who lives in the moment, never backing down from a thrill or a challenge. He keeps himself busy and puts on an air of complete happiness, but in truth he is drowning in grief over the recent loss of his father. Sanders doesn’t know how to handle the grief, so he tamps it down and puts on a happy face for the world. He can only keep this up for so long before his world begins crashing down around him. After royally screwing up the reservations, and being saved by his best friend and business partner, Skip, yet again at the hospitably conference hosted by their company, Sanders finds himself at the bar, unable to tear his eyes off of a mesmerizing woman dancing to the beat of her own drum. He feels an instant connection to this beautiful woman, and he tries to control himself, but fears he may have come on too fast and too quick when she leaves without giving him anything but her first name. Determined to win her over no matter the cost, Sanders heads to Green Valley, TN to launch a retreat set up by his company, and overseen by none other than the beautiful one that got away, Roxy.

There’s no denying the sizzling hot attraction between Roxy and Sanders. but life has a way of catching up with us when we are least expecting it. Roxy has a past she would rather forget, but she still feels guilt and embarrassment, causing her to lack the confidence to deal with her career and to seek out what she truly wants in life and love. Sanders left so many loose ends back in Denver, and until he can tie some of them back up, he’ll have to hope Roxy will take a chance on him. She’s the one that he wants. Forever.

I loved Roxy and Sanders so very much! There love story is not perfect, it’s messy and complicated, but it’s perfect for them. Piper’s character building and angsty romantic buildup are both amazing in this book, as with the other books in this series. There are cameos from Suzie and Ford, and Devlin and Kim, and it feels like catching up with old friends from the previous books. I’m also extremely excited to hear more about Gretchen, the remaining single member of the SWS, I do hope she meets her match soon!
