She’s the One is the 3rd book in the Boggy Creek Valley small town romance series by Kelly Elliott. I read it and thoroughly enjoyed it as a standalone, but now I want to go back and read the first two in the series because I fell in love with the town and the characters.
Elliott has a knack for writing heartfelt scenes, as well as steamy romance. What I loved most about this book is that it features a romance between two people who were once childhood sweethearts and then married for a time, before a tragedy tore them apart and they ended up divorced.
Bishop Harris runs the Wonderland Christmas Tree Farm in Boggy Creek, and he’s gearing up for the busy holiday season when his ex-wife, Abby Boyer moves back to town, throwing him into an emotional tailspin of regret, angst, and hunger for the woman who was once his wife, and whom he has never stopped loving since the first time he laid eyes on her. Will Abby and Bishop be able to work through the pain and hurt they caused each other in order to try or a second chance? Both Bishop and Abby have a great circle of friends who know how much each of them still love one another, and thankfully they are loyal and supportive, helping them work towards forgiveness and back into each other’s arms once more. I loved this story so much! It tackles some heavy subject matter, but in a tender way, allowing readers to really empathize for Abby and Bishop. I look forward to reading more by this author.
